A while ago, Tin wrote tin_the_fatty weblog: Why You Want to… on why one may want use a better browser. I did manage to downloaded and try both version 1.3 and 1.4 of Mozilla for a few weeks. While the tab browsing and junk mail control features in Mozilla are very handy to have, my biggest pat-peevs with it is its Bookmark vs IE’s Favorites. Mozilla do allow one to import IE’s Favorites list into its Bookmark list; however, the list is only sorted in its Bookmark Management form but not in its listed form. As much as I like Mozilla’s tab browsing feature, I could help switching back and forth between Mozilla and IE just to keep a cleaner tidier Favorites list.
I suppose anyone using Netscape will have no problem switching over to Mozilla since they both have the same type of look and feel; but for an IE user the “flow” just isn’t smooth enough to make the switch worthwhile. Besides, I still like the interface of Forte Agent better than the Mozilla/Netscape email and news clients.
I have since found something similar to tab browsing for IE users. Introducing Avant Browser.
