Where are you on RTHK 4 ’s Church Service program right now? The gosples singing performance playing on this channel turn any Hi-Fi system into out tuned tape player. Yuk!
“We accept everyone…”, as the DJ explained the singers on CD’s are inexperienced amateurs; but don’t they ever even Karaoke before they did the recordings?
Westenra is like Sarah Brightman + Enya.
Her latest release Pure sounded so… “plugged”.
A music audio CD from EMI. DSD + Super Bit Mapping Direct. An excellent collection of songs. Top notch performance, recording, and audio quality. Perfect for late night listening. A steal at HKD$93.00 for 2 discs.
That was the question Alec asked me when we were watching a Star Trek show on disc just now.
“Then why does he have pointy ears?”, Alec continued.

I have just received in the mail a sample of a couple of medical masks and a couple of tissues with a couple of sales flyers on those products without prior solicitation. They came in an envelop without any wrappings.
It is better than receiving Anthrax, I suppose.
A few months ago, I’ve noticed my internet browsers were not updating the web pages as it should even after several attempts of refreshes and shift-refreshes and making sure that the cache was being updated during each and every opening of a web page. The problem was much more severe with IE than with Mozilla where IE could take anywhere from a couple of shift-refreshes to forever not updating at all and Mozilla just needed 2 shift-refreshes at the most to get an update.
I have since read it somewhere that the “Script Blocking” function of an anti-virus program could create such a problem. After disabling the script blocking function from the anti-virus program, the problem seems to have been eradicated.
In the current issue of a local computer magazine, there is a printer test trying to show how much vibration is coming out of a couple of Epson printers.
The “technician” first tried to test them by placing an almost full glass of water on top of the printers and let them print just to see how much water would be spilled over. Then, he thought one of the printer wasn’t vibrating enough to show the effect, so he decided “improve” the experiment by placing the printers on a monitor top tray also with an almost full glass of water on top of the printers, with the monitor turned on!
He wanted more effect, it sure is a good way to get some fireworks going and a hip hop make over at the same time.

Entry level to the end of the long and winding road of Hi-Fi, and the beginning of heart melting music.
Say no more, just listen.
A show on TVB Jade just now showed a bunch of Internet connected household appliances.
A fridge with a LCD computer which lets you surf the net - for those mundane days when you are bored to death, it keeps you from opening the fridge at an interval of 4 times a minute, so you could sit in front of the fridge to surf the net all day instead of being at the desk.
A microwave oven hooked up to the net and let you select the recipe from the net and it would cook for you according to the selected recipe without the need to program it. Except that it wouldn’t pick out the right ingredients for you.
A washer also hooked up to the net for god knows what reason. Maybe so you could select the correct way to wash a particular piece of clothing - one individual piece at a time.
Pretty soon, there would be a bed hooked up to the net and let you do it with all those gorgeous models you so desired.
WhaUSay?!
