M and I take showers quite often. Aside from the usual number of once per day, we sometimes take up to 3 showers a day. So naturally, we use up a lot of soap/body shampoo. We need an inexpensive soap that’s not bad for our skin.
Acene has a few that’s quite inexpensive. We had tried a few that’s still not listed in their website yet. Their largest bottle is probably the largest bottle of body shampoo that one could find in any local shops. At a usual discounted price of just less than HKD$25 a bottle, sometimes even with a free normal size sample of another Acene product, it is the best bargain there is and it is one of the most concentrated (thick) formula I have tried so far. However, it is also because of that concentration, it does not mix with water too well. I tried diluting it with water in a separate bottle with vigorous shaking and in just a couple of days the water would float back to the top separating from the shampoo again. One can find this formula almost everywhere.
We then tried their almost identical look but in a about 1/3 smaller bottle formula. The price was around $10 on sale. Price-wise this is a better deal which we thought they were of the same formula but it is not nearly as concentrated as the first one . As it turns out, this one has the best scent and the scent is kind of subtle. Pound for pound, this is not as inexpensive as the first one, but I like this one a lot better than the first one. One can find this formula at Watson’s. However, Watson’s are usually a little out of our way, so we just had the two bottles we bought.
A couple of weeks ago, I found a third formula from Acene at Manning’s on sale from the quoted price of $35.95 to the sale price of $9.90. This one has ginseng in it and it is about 1/5 less in size than the second one. I decided to give it a try and bought one bottle. The scent it not a fragrancy as the second one and not exactly ginseng or Chinese herb medicine smelling but rather natural scent. Not a bad choice either, so I went to Manning’s and got a couple of bottles more yesterday only to find that they have raised the sale price to $13.90! A whopping 40% increase in just two weeks. Well, it is still not a bad price for the size compared with other brands.
Neither of these three products are listed in their website yet. Although I like the third one also, I think I might go back to the second one if the price hasn’t increase much.
