More Mini Z

After I bought the MiniZ Monster, Alec has such a great howl with it I have decided to give him the Monster (a great excuse to…) and on Sunday I went and bought a MiniZ Overland with a Toyota Land Cruiser body as a complete set for HKD$660 and an extra BMW X5 body plus some hop-up parts, for no one carries the BMW X5 as a complete set.

The MiniZ Overland has the same type (but slightly different sized joint pieces) of suspension as the Monster but in much smaller wheels. My friend loves the Overland so much we went shopping again for him last night and finally found one shop carries the Silver Porsche Cayenne complete set. Although this shop sells the Overland for $780, the price is in-line with all other shops we went, except for the shop I bought from who was out of stock, and only this shop carries the Overland set other than the Toyota Harrier (a very ugly car, real or otherwise, IMO). It worked out well for my friend though as he didn’t have to settle for the Harrier set with an extra Cayenne body just to get what he wanted like I had to with the Land Cruiser.

After changing the original springs with oil filled shocks and springs, the Overland climbed from the hardwood floor onto a thick area rug with realistic characters. It even dampens jumps from an otherwise bouncing motion that the original spring only suspension does. With all running MiniZs installed with front and rear lights, we are ready for the Mid-Autumn Festival with these RC “lanterns”.
