Need More Time to Podcast

A friend asked what good is Podcast when there is radio. Well, as much as Podcast is similar to radio as far as the “tuning-in” is concern, their similarities end there. The radio broadcasts what and when the stations have scripted and scheduled to. Unless one tune-in to the archives on the station’s websites, listeners basically have no control over what and when to listen to other than just switching stations blindly.

Whereas with Podcast, listeners choose what and when to listen. Listeners can even upload the selected Podcasts to their iPods and wait until there is free time to listen in on their favorite subjects. The problem is, one selects too many programs and eventually piling up programs after programs which may or may not ended up get deleted by the user programmable preset schedules.

For myself, I listen to music with my iPod when I do weights at the gym and listen to Podcasts when I am on the treadmill. Trouble is, I am on the treadmill for about 35 minutes to 70 minutes at a time and program times range from 2 minutes to over an hour each.
