Just got back last night from a 2 day trip to Macau with a Tin.
Within a day and a half, we have covered many historical sites and museum exhibitions. From the Macau Museum of Arts to the Pawn Shop Museum Saturday afternoon, to the excavation site (now a park), the Macau Museum and the fortress next to it, and the Temple of “Na Jar” next to the St. Paul’s Church (”Dai Sam Ba”).
This trip has been a very enlightening and educational trip as on Sunday we followed a group from the Chinese University of Hong Kong led by Archaeologist Prof. Chung Tang with his specific introduction to a significant archaeological finding, a lotus seed shaped like spindle in the size of a small French bun and a spacer like ring, which was excavated by the team of Prof. Tang in a site in Macau near the Hác-Sá Beach not too long ago. The significance of this finding is that this is the first time the two pieces were found side-by-side to each other thus providing more information as to the function of the lotus seed like rock most likely to be a spindle of a spinning machine of some kind used to shape many of the quartz pieces as jewelry pieces found all over the excavation site as explained by Prof. Tang after his discussions and confirmation with some fellow prominent archaeologists from Japan.

Dinner at Fernando’s on Saturday and the shark fin soup the next evening was great, thanks to Tin for the recommendation and his company. It would be a nice trip for a later date soon with M and Alec as well.
