Punish the Good

In regards to the Sony DRM rootkit incident, what was it, Precops from Minority Report?!

I failed to see why on earth any company would do such a stupid thing - go punish those who do buy CDs, piss them off so they too wouldn’t buy CDs anymore? Those who did do wrong, because of the vastness of them which the record companies seemingly have no way to win the battle war, they’d just let them go?!

Get your heads out of your asses and smell the coffee! The world evolves and people have less time to sit in front of stereos to listen to CDs, and CD walkmans are passé. If buying legit copies of CDs meant the music in them can’t be RIPped into portable music playing devices, then so be it. Other means do work - period.

You can get legit downloads from Hong Kong, but it’s HK$9.5 per song versus US$0.99 per song on iTunes, and those songs doesn’t work on the iPod, now probably the single most popular MP3 player on the market in Hong Kong.

    NICE.

Well, if they don’t want people to buy their music, that left people with two choices; one is simply just don’t listen to their music, there other is… find another way.

Just take a look at imusic site, it’s not even properly written. The trial listen is opened by a new windows, and the sound jammed by the song of the main windows, the music download was encoded and not working on iPod…

I know there are some other music download sites in HK. But… where are they? They can’t even searched on Google…

    Just crap!

I don’t have RealAudio on my PC. When I tried to trial listen music on the Sony/BMG site, it tried to download a .ram file to my computer. When I go to the RealAudio site, it automatically bumped me to their Traditional Chinese site with no link to their English page. I have Chinese Wind0$ XP on my PC but have the default language set to English. I hate it when sites assume that I want them in Chinese, and I certainly don’t want to download a Chinese version of RA.

Needless to say, that whole experience was a complete waste of time.
