Yugo Agogo is no easy target

Gun robber got karate chopped.

Just as silly as those 5 kids who drove up to Ben Johnson, beat him up, and then ran off on foot!

hmm, Wordpress.

Many things to learn, I have.
Force using, not advised.

Many thanks to Tin. My Soliloquy is now a Wordpress blog.

SLS HK Gathering

DSC_4157adj750.jpg

As usual, a few of us gathered for a dinner near the Hong Kong Rugby 7s weekend. Other than Mr. Steve Housser, there is no other guests from the school this time around, so we decided to have a small group quiet dinner instead. Being a Monday night, originally, we were going to take a stroll up to SOHO and pick out a restaurant; however, the weather report in the morning said there would be a thunderstorm in the evening. So we changed the plan and made reservation at a restaurant nearby the Causeway Bay MTR station instead so that we wouldn’t get too wet. Although in the end, the thunderstorm came early in the afternoon and it was relatively dry by the evening, we all enjoyed the nice food and had a good chat.

We would like to thank Steve for all the souvenirs, and thank Edmund for recommending a great restaurant and delicious food.

Earthquake felt in Hong Kong

Just now, I felt earthquake, twice. Each for almost a minute! I thought I was feeling dizzy at the beginning. When I looked at my chandeliers, both of them were swaying heavily! The number to the Hong Kong Observatory is busy.

Update (8:46pm) : It was Taiwan at about 8:29pm. 6.7 in the Rickter’s Scale! So it took about 12 minutes to get here.

Hac Sa Excavation Site

On Dec 16, I followed Tin to Hac Sa, Macau to visit an excavation site. Due to news release restrictions, we have to delay the release of these photos.

The site primarily contains artifacts of quartz and jade from what seems to be a few workshops or a refinery dated back more than 4000 years.

I have always been fascinated by archeology, anthropology, and paleontology. This visit has been most enlightening.

Many thanks to Professor Tang for showing us the correct way of excavation and explaining the finds, and to Tin for letting me know and bringing me to the site.

Congratulations to Iris & Gary

LSC Class of ‘81 Reunion

LSCDSCN0692.jpg

Last night was the 25th Anniversary class reunion of our class. There were over 80 Alumni and over 20 teachers there at the Holiday Inn. Since I went to study in Canada after my F.3 class, it has actually been over 27 years since I saw most of my classmates. We never did have any formal reunion before so naturally it took a little name tag reading before we recognize some of us. It was nice to be able to catch up with several very close friends and a few teachers who had taught me after all these years. Hopefully, with a hand full of name cards we would get together more often.

Many thanks to Cheung, Yik, and Cheng (whom I knew very well) and others (whom I did not know so well) who helped organize such a great gathering.

More Scams

Some broad called and identified themselves as some “Fire Prevention Society” and that they’ll schedule a free training course/seminar for our staff. I remember that they had called several months ago and I had passed them on to our property manager and never heard from them since. Once again, I passed them on to our property manager and this time around I called my property manager to warn him about the call. He said they have been had several times at other sites where companies pretended they were some kind of organizations giving out free seminars yet in fact they are all sales presentations where they all made it sounded like we were bounded by laws that we must let them setup the seminars for us.

I told my property manager to insist callers such as this to send us literatures by post instead and to tell them that we would never sign-up for anything over the phone. Scammers usually wouldn’t even bother sending out anything.

4 Month Old Tortured to Death by Parents

Over 70 wounded marks, had been stuck with a towel in the month, had been hung invertedly, had been put in the refrigerator, and had been shaken to death! The parents pleaded guilty and said it was due to financial pressure and that the mother is now pregnant as well in hopes of a reduced sentence but the judge ruled each parent 10 year imprisonment.

I say do on to them as they did on to others. Bring on their torture tools!

Bastards!
